Sheridan Smith's jewellery stolen from trailer as she filmed TV show - report

Sheridan Smith reportedly had her jewellery stolen from her trailer while she filmed her new TV show last week.

A gang of thieves nicknamed the Movie Takers reportedly ransacked the star's trailer on the set of her new Sky show Rosie Molloy Gives Up Everything in southwest London last week.

Police were called on Thursday night after the raid, during which the thieves reportedly made off with her jewellery.

"This was a very upsetting incident and everyone involved is shocked - but Sheridan is understandably very hurt," an insider told The Sun. "Fortunately, it wasn't hugely expensive items, more day-to-day things, but she had left them in her trailer for safety while filming in character and came back to find the place had been turned over. It's absolutely disgraceful that these people would do this."

A spokesman for London's Metropolitan Police confirmed the basic facts of the incident to the publication.

"The offence happened at about 11.50pm on May 5. Items of jewellery were stolen from trailers in Surbiton. There have been no arrests, inquiries continue," they stated.

The Cilla actress plays the title character in Rosie Molloy Gives Up Everything, about a workaholic who is trying to free herself of her booze, drug and sex addictions. It is expected to air later this year.

Sheridan, 40, has yet to comment on the burglary.
