Gentleman Jack star Suranne Jones has explained why she's ruled out a Strictly Come Dancing stint.

The BATFA TV Award-winning actress is a massive Strictly fan, and also has dance experience of her own through pantomime and musical theatre over the years.

However, Suranne has admitted to OK! Magazine why she's reluctant to make the leap from Strictly super-fan to becoming an actual contestant on the show.

"I do love dancing and I do love singing, but I’d only want to do it in a stage show," she said.

"I love watching Strictly, but I don't think I could handle the pressure. The professionals are so amazing and that's what makes it so wonderful to watch."

The former Doctor Foster star is very busy these days, as she is gearing up for a second series of her BBC spy drama series Vigil.

When she appeared on The Graham Norton Show earlier this month, Jones revealed the new series will move away from its original nautical setting for a new threat.

"There will be another [series]," she explained. "But it won't be with submarines. She [Jones' character, Amy Silva] kept getting locked in places and everybody kept dying, so it will take place somewhere else."

In between filming scenes for the tense BBC drama series or any other upcoming roles, we're sure Suranne will make time to watch next year's Strictly series since she's such a huge fan!

Strictly Come Dancing's returns on Christmas Day (December 25) on BBC One, while spin-off show Strictly: It Takes Two will air on weeknights next year on BBC Two. Both shows also stream on BBC iPlayer.
