Uma Thurman to star in Apple TV+'s fast paced kidnap thriller Suspicion
Hollywood actress Uma Thurman will take the lead in Apple TV+'s fast-paced thriller Suspicion.
The series will follow the kidnapping of the son of a prominent American businesswoman - played by Kill Bill's Uma.
Leo's abduction from a large, upmarket hotel in central New York is captured on video and goes viral, and four British citizens staying at the hotel become the prime suspects. Did they do it? Or is it a case of wrong place, wrong time?
The cast also includes Kunal Nayyar (The Big Bang Theory), Noah Emmerich (The Americans), Georgina Campbell (Black Mirror), Elyes Gabel (Scorpion), Elizabeth Henstridge (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and Angel Coulby (Dancing On The Edge).
Rob Williams will serve as showrunner, and the series is directed by Golden Globe-winner Chris Long and produced by Darin McLeod. The suspenseful drama is based on the award-winning Israeli series False Flag from Keshet Broadcasting, created by Amit Cohen and Maria Feldman.
Apple TV+ is already home to Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon's acclaimed TV series The Morning Show, and Oscar-winning actress Octavia Spencer's crime drama Truth Be Told.
Uma recently transitioned from the big screen to television in Netflix's young adult supernatural thriller Chambers. The series centres on a young heart attack survivor who becomes consumed by the mystery surrounding the heart that saved her life. The closer she gets to uncovering the truth about her donor's sudden death, the more she starts taking on the characteristics of the deceased -- some of which are troublingly sinister.
The drama is not being renewed for a second season.
Suspicion will air on Apple TV+ later this year.
