Wakanda Forever Trailer Shows New Black PantherMarvel Studios

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has just released an extended trailer (below), giving fans a better look at the new character donning the black suit.

Last year, it was announced that Marvel wouldn't recast the role of T'Challa. Black Panther's titular hero was played by late actor Chadwick Boseman, who passed away in 2020.

In this sequel from director Ryan Coogler, someone else entirely will take on T'Challa's legacy.

This brand new trailer shows T'Challa's family, including his sister Shuri (Letitia Wright) and mother Ramonda (Angela Bassett), as they mourn the loss of the king. Shuri, particularly, can be seen carrying her brother's mask during a funeral procession.

Later on, a new iteration of Black Panther makes their debut, falling from the ceiling in a spectacular stunt.

While there hasn't been an official confirmation as to who's actually hiding behind the mask, it seems like Shuri is the most likely candidate for the job.

The clip also gives fans another look at Dominique Thorne's Riri Williams aka Ironheart. Already spotted in the teaser released during San Diego Comic-Con, the brilliant teen inventor following in the footsteps of Tony Stark can now be seen rocking her armour.

Riri will make her first MCU appearance in Wakanda Forever before leading her own series, Ironheart, in 2023.

The cast of the sequel is rounded out by returning stars Lupita Nyong'o, The Walking Dead's Danai Gurira, Winston Duke and Florence Kasumba, as well as Marvel newcomers Michaela Coel (I May Destroy You) and Tenoch Huerta (Narcos: Mexico).

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has a release date of November 11, 2022. The first movie is streaming on Disney+.
