The whimsical world of bespoke stationery
“Stationery shouldn’t be too serious,” says Jennifer Grant, whose London-based studio Romeo + Jules creates colourfully decorated hand-drawn paperware inspired by the vibrant houses and antique treasures of Portobello Road.
In a nod to Grant’s former vocation as the art director for a style magazine, Romeo + Jules releases its products in a similar way to fashion houses, providing a bespoke service alongside seasonal ‘ready-to-write’ collections.
For autumn/winter, she has made a festive selection of wrapping papers and invitations in warm, rich tones of burgundy, olive and gold, as well as menus and place cards to add the final flourish to a chic Christmas spread. As she says: “It’s quite special to create a beautiful table just for you and yours.”
