Woman's spooky discovery in 148-year-old home
The new owner of a 148-year-old house has made an unsettling discovery while renovating the home which she purchased just a couple of months ago.
Lindsay Grummett has been documenting her handiwork in a series of videos on TikTok, but last week she encountered something particularly startling that had not previously caught her attention.
On the same level as a platform between stairs connecting the upstairs level with downstairs, she discovered a door that did not appear to have a function.
It was positioned on a wall that, from what Ms Grummett could tell, had just the upstairs bathroom on the other side, with no access to any other spaces in that area of the house.
Her curiosity eventually grew to a point where she couldn't resist finding out what was behind the door, having previously been too scared to investigate while her boyfriend was away on a work trip.

Filming as she opened the door, which didn't have a handle, she revealed boards of timber and what appeared to be a set of stairs that had been blocked off.
On the other side of the door were also what she described as "some very retro stickers".
"I have no idea what's back there. Let me know if you think I should try to figure it out," she told viewers.
People want to know what's behind the door
More than seven million people have since viewed the video, which she captioned: "My house may or may not have a secret passage... and probably a few ghosts".
Almost 13,000 people expressed their interest in comments, many begging her to remove the boarding and find out where the stairs led to.
"I have no idea how someone sees this and just walks away like 'oh I'll deal with that SECRET ROOM later'," one person wrote in a comment.
Others expressed concern the staircase could be haunted with spirits or ghosts.
"I mean you opened up the door already so if there are spirits, they're out so go on girl. Check it out," another said in a comment.
In a follow-up video uploaded the next day, Ms Grummett said she would be waiting for her boyfriend to return home before she went snooping any further.
"I'm going to be real with you, I'm a little baby and so is she [the dog], and all of you commenting about ghosts and spirits and all other kinds of weird s*** that might arise when I go into that space, I'm not willing to do it alone," she told viewers.
Ms Grummett assured her audience that when her boyfriend was home, they would investigate the space and film another video.
"I hope it's a secret room or a pot of gold," she said.
