Celebrated US jazz singer Al Jarreau has died at the age of 76. The seven-time Grammy winner was recently admitted to hospital in Los Angeles suffering from exhaustion. That forced him to quit touring after more than 50 years on the road, forcing the cancellation of his remaining tour dates for 2017. Jarreau delighted audiences with his brand of jazz, pop, funk and Rhythm and Blues. But a statement said that Jarreau passed away on Sunday morning in hospital, “kept comfortable by his wife, son, and a few of his family and friends”.
