Most teachers just greet their students with a regular “Hello.” But Barry White Jr, a fifth-grade teacher in Charlotte, North Carolina, is not most teachers. He’s worked out a personalized handshake for each of his students.White Jr said he started doing handshakes to build meaningful relationships with his students. He told Storyful: “A critical component of teaching is the relationship piece. I want my students to be excited to come to school and more so my class.
