- Alvin 'Seeco' Patterson, who has died aged 90, was a percussionist with Bob Marley and the Wailers, and a mentor and father figure to the reggae legend; he was with Marley when gunmen attempted to assassinate him, and was by his side during his treatment for the cancer that ultimately killed him.

Bunny Wailer, who has died aged 73, was with Bob Marley a founding member of the Wailers, who revolutionised reggae music; as the only remaining Wailer (Marley died in 1981 and Peter Tosh, the third member, was shot to death in 1987) he was for many years considered the music’s elder statesman. He was born Neville Livingston, and it was not until much later that he would take the sobriquet of Bunny Wailer, largely as a marketing device for his clear, ringing tenor voice and percussive arranging.

Bunny Wailer, the reggae legend who was the last surviving member of The Wailers, has died at the age of 73. The baritone singer, whose birth name was Neville Livingston, formed The Wailers in 1963 with late superstars Bob Marley and Peter Tosh. In addition to their music, the Wailers and other musicians popularised Rastafarian culture among better-off Jamaicans from the 1970s.

Bob Marley and the Wailers to be honoured with Blue Heritage Plaque
A blue heritage plaque honouring Bob Marley will be unveiled today at the London address where he and his band The Wailers lived and recorded in 1977.While living at 42 Oakley Street in Chelsea, Marley and his bandmates Bunny Wailer and Peter Tosh finished recording their album Exodus, which featured tracks including “Jamming”, “Three Little Birds” and “One Love”.
