Justin Bieber sells music catalogue for $200 million: How does his deal compare to other artists?
A new trend has started where stars sell their entire back catalogue to music investment firms. But just how much are these firms willing to pay for the rights to Bieber, Bowie and Bruce?

Justin Bieber selling his back catalogue is eyebrow-raising because of how young the artist is
Selling the rights to your back catalogue has become a well-trodden path for musicians. What is slightly eyebrow-raising about the deal, though, is that, at the age of 28, Bieber is somewhat younger than many of the artists to have done so during the last few years. Most of the big blockbuster deals have involved so-called 'heritage' acts such as Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen and Fleetwood Mac rather than younger artists.

Culture Re-View: Bowie releases his best album... in my opinion
It's not the glam opera of 'Ziggy Stardust'. It's not the experimental Berlin album 'Heroes'. Nor is it the 80s pop of 'Let's Dance'. The best Bowie album of them all is the 1976 release 'Station to Station'.

Celebrating the Jewish designers who dressed Bowie and Bond
Fashion-conscious Londoners are being asked to go through their wardrobes for a new exhibition celebrating the Jewish designers who dressed everyone from Bowie to Bond. A swinging Sixties Carnaby Street boutique will be recreated for the show alongside a more humble workshop from the height of the rag trade in east London. The show, at the Museum of London Docklands, will focus on how Jewish Londoners became trendsetters in the fashion business.

John Cale resists nostalgia, Måneskin are making rock fun again – the week’s best albums
John Cale may be an artist more written about than listened to, something his dense and dour 17th solo album is unlikely to change. Mercy is a typically fascinating work of sonic layering and amorphously misshapen songcraft: moody, atmospheric and as elusive as the tail end of a bad dream. Having managed to stay off the radio and almost entirely out of the charts for over 50 years, the avant garde veteran is not about to change the habits of a lifetime now.
