Former pop mogul Jonathan King has appeared in court accused of sexually abusing nine teenage boys during his music career. The 72-year-old allegedly attacked a 16-year-old boy in 1970 and carried out a string of sex assaults on eight victims between 1978 and 1988. King, appearing under his real name Kenneth George King, wore a suit and Nike trainers and smiled as he confirmed his identity from the dock.

Ex-DJ Jonathan King charged with 18 sex attacks on boys
Jonathan King, the former DJ, has been charged with 18 sexual offences against nine teenage boys dating back to the 1970s and 1980s. King has been released on bail by Surrey Police, to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on June 26. The charges are part of the force’s Operation Ravine, which was launched in 2015 following a review by Merseyside Police into an earlier investigation, Operation Arundel, which dated back to 2000.

'Selma' director DuVernay to make Hurricane Katrina feature film
Ava DuVernay, the director behind the Oscar-nominated Martin Luther King Jr. biopic "Selma," will write, produce and direct a feature film set in the time of Hurricane Katrina, the company backing the film said on Monday.
