August Ames dead: 23-year-old adult entertainment actor's body found after homophobia row
An adult film star who starred in almost 290 movies has died at the age of 23. August Ames, who was from Nova Scotia in Canada, reportedly died in Camarillo, California on Tuesday morning. The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Ames, whose real name is Mercedes Grabowski, had passed away but did not give a cause.

Ex-New York prison guards found guilty of charges over 2013 beating
Two former New York state jail guards were found guilty by a Manhattan jury on Tuesday of federal charges related to the 2013 beating of an inmate who suffered life-threatening injuries, prosecutors announced. Kathy Scott, 43, and George Santiago, 35, were convicted of conspiring to violate the civil rights of the inmate, Kevin Moore, and falsifying records to cover up the beating, according to the office of acting U.S. Attorney Joon Kim in Manhattan.

Study Investigates What Happens When You Quit Booze For A Month
A month off alcohol could help prevent serious illnesses in later life, the Press Association reports. Patients who gave up for four weeks saw benefits for their liver function, blood pressure and cholesterol levels and were also at lower risk of developing diabetes and liver disease, research from University College London suggested.
