A renowned designer has created a dress made entirely out of cake featuring 25,000 edible flowers. The spectacular piece was designed by Debbie Wingham who has been called the Countess of Confection by Food Network thanks to her famous life-size cakes of celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Karl Lagerfeld and Ru Paul. The vintage inspired haute couture mannequin cake is adorned with an edible gown with the back of the dress embellished with more than 25,000 edible flowers. It’s the largest number of edible flowers ever featured on a cake. The cake, which took months to create, also used a large amount of ingredients including 300 eggs, 25 boxes of Rice Krispie treats, 29kg of couture sugar paste and 13,000 baby marshmallows. Wingham also used almost half a ton of flour, which equates to roughly the same weight as a small horse. The cake itself was created to mark the launch of Bread Aheads afternoon tea in London which will be served in their new tearoom in the heart of Chelsea during The Chelsea Flower Show.
