Love them – or consider them insufferable hagiographic tosh – our appetite for music films is apparently insatiable, whether they are fond tributes or damning depictions of pettiness and squalor. In our list, we’ve largely tacked away from straight concert documentaries, in favour of films that really get under the skin of a performer or band.
