Avengers: Age Of Ultron - New Trailer Pits Hero Against Hero

As Monty Python once warned, ‘there’s trouble at t’mill’, with the latest trailer for ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ showing up even more keenly the fissures in the ranks of our favourite superhero team.

The latest teaser dropped online overnight, and it’s an angsty affair, with maniacal robot Ultron - voiced by James Spader - seemingly employing the classic ‘divide and conquer’ gambit.

Does Bruce Banner help create Ultron?
Ultron: The new Frankenstein myth?

With destruction abound from the first frames of the new snapshot of Joss Whedon’s sequel, Marvel fans will no doubt be picking apart the clues.

“You’ve meddled with something you don’t understand,” says Chris Hemsworth’s godlike Thor, as the core team of Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow and Captain America appear to be very much on the back foot.

Once again, the climactic battle scene between Mark Ruffalo’s the Hulk and Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man – in his ‘Hulkbuster suit’ – takes centre stage, the pair duking it out on the high street.

Spader’s Ultron is also on hand for the sinister remarks, vowing: “I’m going to tear you apart from the inside.”

It’s a good trick if you can pull it off.

As with any good trailer – and notably with Marvel’s eagle-eyed fanbase – there are questions asked here, like who is Andy Serkis playing, what sinister business is in store for Black Widow, and does Tony Stark actually manage to beat up the Hulk?

We’ll know this Spring, when Downey Jr, Hemsworth, Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Don Cheadle and Samuel L. Jackson return the cinemas on May 1.
