Brad Pitt Stars In First Trailer For Fury

Brad Pitt Stars In First Trailer For Fury

War, what is it good for? If the first trailer for new World War II movie ‘Fury’ is anything to go by, then the answer is a scarred Brad Pitt in an army uniform.

Giving off a very ‘Saving Private Ryan’ vibe, this David Ayer-directed epic co-stars Logan Lerman and Shia LaBeouf as two of Pitt’s tank crew positioned deep in enemy territory.

Set in April 1945, ‘Fury’ sees Pitt and his five-man team on a heroic mission with little chance to survival.

Cue lots of male bonding, some spectacular explosions and a ton of mud.

Of course this isn’t the star’s first excursion into the Second World War. He led a similarly motley group of Nazi killers in Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Inglourious Basterds’.

It’ll also be interesting see LaBoeuf in a supporting role following his recent high-profile appearances in the tabloids. Thankfully, he’s not wearing a paper bag over his head in the trailer.

Writer/director David Ayer is best known for scripting ‘Training Day’, while his most recent success was cop drama ‘End Of Watch’ (we’ll ignore Arnie-starrer ‘Sabotage’). Judging by his previous films, we know he can bring the tough characterisations and the grit to wartime.

Might this be Brad’s chance at an Oscar? Find out on 24 October.
