Colin Firth Shows His Action Chops In New Kingsman: The Secret Service Trailer

When was the last time Colin Firth smashed a chap’s tooth clean out of his head during a brutal movie bar brawl?

Oh, that’s right, it’s never.

Until now, obviously, as we are treated to a blazing display of the Brit actor’s none-too-shabby action skills in the latest trailer for ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’.

In the forthcoming actioner from ‘X-Men: First Class’ director Matthew Vaughn (penned by Kick-Ass writer Mark Millar), Firth plays Harry Hart, a veteran operative for a shadowy secret service-type organisation.

And Harry’s training is laid bone-shatteringly bare – not to mention his impressive Bond-esque armoury – in this scene where he dispatches effortlessly an ill-mannered bunch of London ne’er-do-wells, showing off some sterling brolly skills.

Sat opposite him is newcomer Taron Egerton’s young upstart who’s been selected to join the Kingsman’s secretive group, who are gearing up to foil Samuel L. Jackson’s Valentine.

Add gruelling spy training, near death experiences, actual death experiences and celebrity kidnappings, and this looks like a pretty original take on the spy thriller.

Also starring are Mark Strong, Michael Caine, Mark Hamill and Jack Davenport, with reported cameos from the likes of Elton John, Adele, Lady Gaga and David Beckham, but we’ll believe those when we see them).

It’s due to pummel its way into your local multiplex in February, 2015.
