Winter is coming… and possibly a ‘Game of Thrones’ movie too.

That’s according to Charles Dance, the venerable British thesp who plays the tyrannical Tywin Lannister in the smash-hit fantasy series.

Speaking to the Daily Beast, he said: “There’s talk of eventually trying to do a feature film, but I don’t know which of the storylines.

“There’s so much to cram into a film.”

Writer George R.R. Martin, who penned the books the HBO series is based on, has similarly intimated the possibility of a movie.

Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter in March this year, he said: “It all depends on how long the main series runs.

“Do we run for seven years? Do we run for eight? Do we run for 10? The books get bigger and bigger (in scope).

“It might need a feature to tie things up, something with a feature budget, like $100 million for two hours. Those dragons get real big, you know.”

Martin added that a movie could also be based on three prequel novellas that he has written, set in the mythical land of Westeros, but 90 years before the events in his ‘A Song of Fire and Ice’ series, on which ‘GoT’ is based.

There has been concern that Martin, who is currently writing the sixth book of his opus ‘The Winds of Winter’, may be overtaken by the TV show.

It’s said that Martin, who is 66, has told the show’s developers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss the major plot points ahead, in case he dies before finishing the series.
