Josh Hutcherson Wants To Play Spider-Man

Josh Hutcherson has thrown his hat into the ring for Marvel and Sony’s upcoming ‘Spider-Man’ reboot, saying that he’d be more than willing to play the character if that’s what the studios want.

In what could be construed as a supreme act of generosity, Hutcherson looked to save Marvel and Sony the hassle of actively looking for an actor to portray the superhero icon by declaring his own interest.

Hutcherson made these comments while chatting to the good folks over at Yahoo! Movies’ US branch, and after being asked about his interest in replacing Andrew Garfield the ‘Hunger Games’ actor was very positive.

“Yeah, of course I’d think about doing it: It’s ‘Spider-Man’, that’d be really cool,” he remarked, before conceding that these discussions hadn’t actually taken place yet though. “There’s not been any conversations about that, but who knows what would happen?”

Unfortunately for Hutcherson his name hasn’t really been banded around since speculation about who might play the next ‘Spider-Man’ started to swirl.

In fact, at the moment, we’re still not 100% certain what actors Marvel and Sony are looking at for the part.

Some rumors have suggested that the studios’ next incarnation of the superhero will be African-American, and Peter Parker will be dropped for Miles Morales, while other have insisted it will be still be Aunt May’s beguiling nephew.

We’ll just have to wait and see, but with Spider-Man’s Marvel debut expected in 2016 a decision should be announced rather imminently.
