New Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 Trailer Goes Heavy On The Drama

The first full-length trailer for ‘Mockingjay – Part 1’ has arrived, and it promises intense drama on an epic scale in the third film in the series.

“I never wanted any of this, I never wanted to be in the Games,” pleads Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss to a looming President Snow (Donald Sutherland) at the start of the trailer.

Oh, but we’re so glad you are Miss Everdeen.

This new trailer is an absolute stonker as we finally get a good look inside the mysterious District 13 in all its grey glory. The new trailer also suggests that we’ll get to see a lot more of Liam Hemsworth’s Gale in this film, which sees the rebellion against the Capitol finally rising up in a bid take back control of Panem.

Poor old Gale has taken a bit of a back seat in the first two films, but this time he’ll be on hand to help Katniss along the way, while Josh Hutcherson’s Peeta is held captive in the Capitol.

Elizabeth Banks’ Effie Trinket has been given a massive make-under for ‘Mockingjay’, having left the heavily-polished world of the Capitol behind in favour of the austere settings of District 13. It’s a big difference from the Effie we’ve come to know and kinda love.

We also get to see Natalie Dormer’s shaven-headed Cressida in action. The ‘Game of Thrones’ star is playing a videographer, enlisted to document the Rebellion as propaganda for their cause.

This looks like its going to be the biggest ‘Hunger Games’ film to date, with the scale ramped up to epic proportions. Of course, the film is just one half of the final book, so we can only expect it get bigger and more bombastic from here.

‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1’ is coming to UK cinemas on 20 November.
