New SPECTRE Set Photos May Confirm Massive Plot Spoiler

007 is back in London as filming continues on ’SPECTRE’ along the banks of the river Thames. For the first time since production began we’ve seen Christoph Waltz in action as Franz Oberhauser however things are not quite as they seem with his mysterious character.

The scene in question saw Waltz stepping out of a chauffeur-driven Rolls Royce limo into a helicopter. He’s wearing a fetching black velvet jacket, but it’s what’s on his face that has us intrigued: his face is covered mo-cap markers.

But why?

Step away now if you want to remain completely spoiler-free for ‘SPECTRE’ as we speculate on what it could mean.

The only reason an actor would wear performance-capture markers like this on a film set is if their face is going to be digitally enhanced using CGI in post-production - think Andy Serkis in 'Rise/Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’. But what sort of digital enhancements would Waltz’s character require in 'SPECTRE’? Take a leap of logic with us while we suggest his character is going to have noticeable scars on his face.

And who else in the James Bond world has huge scars on their face? That’s right - James Bond’s nemesis Ernst Stavro Blofeld, the character that Waltz has strenuously denied that he’s playing in 'SPECTRE’ on multiple occasions.

But why would a scar be a CGI enhancement when make-up would do the trick? The answer lies within the photographs. If Waltz had stepped out in the daylight with a huge scar, the spoiler that Oberhauser IS actually Blofeld would be in the open. We guess the scar is probably achieved with make-up when filming happens behind closed doors, but they’ve tried to hide it here.

Sorry 'SPECTRE’, but we think your cover has been blown.

Blofeld is the evil genius at the head of global criminal organisation SPECTRE. He’s appeared in six James Bond films to date and he’s long been rumoured to be returning in the 24th Bond film after the notorious “McClory rights” dispute was settled last year.

We’ll only know for sure if Christoph Waltz is actually playing Blofeld when the film hits cinemas this November.

However, after the cat and mouse game of “Is he Khan or is he John Harrison?” game played by 'Star Trek Into Darkness’ spectacularly backfired in 2012, we hope EON doesn’t tease us too much.
