Paul Bettany Teases The Vision’s Age Of Ultron Origin

It’s long been confirmed that Paul Bettany will appear in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ as new superhero, The Vision. But how is this super-powered robot created?

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the 43-year-old ‘Avengers’ star explained that The Vision’s look remains firmly under wraps.

“It’s still a secret,” he said. “I think all will be revealed very shortly.”

Of course, Bettany already plays Iron Man’s lovable AI sidekick, J.A.R.V.I.S… but with an entirely new role as The Vision, it looks as though Stark’s computer system may be due for a bit of an upgrade.

Unfortunately, all we’ve seen so far is a rather blurred image from a Comic Con poster… but with hints towards a more classic, comic book look, I can’t help thinking that The Vision will be something for comic book fans to really get excited about.

“It’s a secret I’ve kept for about three years, which is really hard, especially with three kids,” he added. “I’m contractually obliged not to talk about it… J.A.R.V.I.S will be there and so will The Vision. But I simply can’t tell you any more.”

Although he’s keen to not say too much, it seems as though that’s a pretty big hint right there. After all, with Bettany voicing J.A.R.V.I.S. and playing The Vision, it’s entirely possible that one could be created from the other.

Of course, it’s been rumoured for some time that J.A.R.V.I.S. might get upgraded into The Vision. But will it be Tony Stark who takes the plunge, or could Ultron be the one to give the old AI a new body?

For now, we’ll have to wait and see… but if ‘Age of Ultron’ takes inspiration from the comic books, this could be a very interesting step for J.A.R.V.I.S. and Iron Man.

‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ heads to cinemas on 24 April 2015.
