There’s No Sex And The City 3 After All, Says Sarah Jessica Parker

It looks like Sarah Jessica Parker owes quite a few people an apology.

The ‘Sex In The City’ star has had to clear up rumours – of her own making, as it turns out – that another 'Sex and the City’ movie is on the way.

It appears there will not be a reunion of Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte following a somewhat ill-judged Instagram message from the actress this week.

Taking to her social network, she dropped a picture of herself dancing across the pavement from Bloomingdales, a favourite haunt of her character from the series.

“Well. I guess the cat’s out of the (little brown) bag,” she wrote.

“As usual, we will keep you posted on every detail as we are able. I’m under strict gag order until then. Xx, Sj.”

To most, that was the biggest signal yet that a third 'Sex and the City’ film was about to be announced.

But it turns out it was something considerably less exciting to fans of the show and the movies.

Taking once again to her social network, but this time to apologise for the misunderstanding, she said: “Pinch me, I’m dreaming. After months and months of sworn secrecy, I can finally shout the news from the rooftop.

“Or even better, from the iconic @bloomingdales awning. Welcome to New York, @sjpcollection. You’re going to love it here. Finally, a permanent home in NYC. Ps. Forgive me for any previous misunderstandings. Twenty lashes with a wet noodle. Yours forever, Sj x.”

Yep, she’s launching a fashion line at the famous 59th street store.

Warner Bros quickly shut down the rumours too, saying quite unequivocally: “The post is not in relation to the Sex and the City property.”

It may perhaps be all for the best.

The last movie was famously hammered in merciless fashion by the critics.

Mark Kermode said that he could think of nothing ever produced that was 'more poisonous, more repugnant, more repulsive, more retrograde, more depressing than Sex and the City 2’.

He added that it wanted to make him become a communist.

That said, it did decent business at the box office, coining in over $300 million (£191 million) on a $60 million budget.
