The Winter Soldier To Return In Captain America: Civil War

He may have survived the events of ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ but will he survive the ‘Civil War’? Apparently, Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes will play a major role in the upcoming ‘Captain America’ sequel.

According to a report at Badass Digest, they confirm that Daniel Bruhl will join ‘Civil War’ as a villain and also reveal that Bucky Barnes will return in an important role.

“Sources close to production tell me that not only is the Winter Soldier involved in Civil War, he’s a central character in it,” they explain. But what could that involve?

They go on to speculate that Bruhl may end up playing Baron Zemo – a high-ranking Nazi officer who was responsible for a number of secret weapons programs.

And while he’s not directly linked to The Winter Soldier, they speculate that perhaps he could be linked to the experimentation that caused Bucky Barnes to lose his memory… and could end up being stalked by Bucky himself.

Of course, that’s just pure speculation and at this point, we have no idea whether they’re anywhere near the mark. But it’s still fun to wonder. Either way, it certainly makes sense to see the return of The Winter Soldier. After all, he’s a loose thread that’s been left hanging. And I can’t help thinking he’s likely to show up when we least expect it.

Will that be in ‘Captain America: Civil War’? Perhaps. But let’s just say that ‘The Winter Soldier’ actor Sebastian Stan still has a number of Marvel movies left on his contract…
