Amazing Edible Frozen Cakes

Christmas 2014 is under ten weeks away, but it may all come quicker than you anticipate, especially with the ‘Frozen’ craze still very much in full swing.

A number of jaw-dropping cake designs based on Disney’s hit film have been unearthed over at the Telegraph, so here’s a selection of the best ones out there.

As you can see, the skill in making these visually gorgeous (and probably yummy) cakes is incredible.

Olaf and Sven

This Olaf and Sven one is gigantic, and is vanilla buttercream sponge in hand-moulded chocolate ganache. It’s from Sweet As Sugar and as you can see in their blog post, it’s absolutely massive when you see it next to a person! The attention to detail is extraordinary and took two days to construct. The best thing about this mouth-watering cake is that it was made to raise awareness for Make-A-Wish UK, and raised £8,000 in the process.

Princess Elsa

Another from Sweet As Sugar is this Princess Elsa one. Standing at 19-inches tall, this lovely looking character was made — from start to finish — in just four-and-a-half hours! Commissioned late one Thursday night and needed for the following Saturday, it was baked on the Friday night from 7.30pm until midnight, which is impressive. Oh, and the entire thing is edible, too.

Icy Domain

The Cake Store took it upon themselves to craft this intricate and eye-catching two-tier birthday cake in the setting of Arendelle’s snowy domain. Featuring models of the characters (sorry, you can’t eat those), the cake will set you back a cool £120, but it’ll be personalised, have optional sparklers, and contains 35-40 servings, so that’s birthday cake every meal for the next fortnight, by my calculations.

Has this gotten you in the mood to re-watch Disney’s ‘Frozen’, or simply craving a piece of cake?…
