Anne Hathaway Wants Catwoman Cameo

After appearing in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ as the seductive Catwoman, it looks as though Anne Hathaway is keen to clamber back inside that slinky, black catsuit.

In an interview with IGN, the 31-year-old Catwoman actress revealed that she’d love to play the part of Selina Kyle once more. As long as she gets to work with Christopher Nolan again.

“I would be totally up for doing it” she explained “If Chris [Nolan] was involved. For me, the thing that made doing that part particularly fun was that she existed in his Gotham. Without him I don’t think it would be the same thing.”

Of course, since ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ the folks at DC have rebooted the Batman universe once again, placing Ben Affleck inside the infamous batsuit. But could Catwoman carry her own movie once more?

“I also wonder about that part,” she said. “If because she’s a thief, it’s not better to have her be a small part in a larger film. So she can go through and steal aspects of the film. But when the focus is squarely on her, I don’t know if it works as well.”

Obviously, we’ve already seen what happens when Catwoman gets her own movie and with Halle Berry in the ridiculous role, it’s not exactly a mistake that anyone wants to repeat. But I get the feeling that Hathaway’s Catwoman would be an entirely different matter.

But what about a cameo? It looks as though Hathaway would jump at the chance.

“Oh yeah that’d be fun,” she said. “I’d definitely love that. I want to play her again. I don’t know – this is just speculation, because I do think about it sometimes – I think she’s got an amazing backstory and it would be great to see her get her own film. But I don’t know – she is someone who… mystery serves her well so I don’t know what a whole film would do. But who knows?”

Unfortunately, the chances of Anne Hathaway appearing in the current DC universe are slim to none. After all, that’s a connection to the Nolan trilogy that would undoubtedly confuse the overall state of things. But would the fans love to see it? That’s another matter entirely…
