Captain America: Civil War Begins Filming In April

It looks as though Cap and Iron Man will lock horns sooner than we thought… with ‘Captain America: Civil War’ due to start filming in April.

According to Collider, the highly-anticipated ‘Captain America’ sequel will start filming as early as next month…

“Right as Avengers: Age of Ultron enters hype overdrive ahead of its release on May 1st, another Marvel film dealing with the fallout of that titular team’s impending adventure is ready for its close-up,” they revealed.

“Captain America: Civil War is pretty much ready to get in front of the cameras,” they said. “Casting notices for extras (with many ethnicities being sought) have gone out in Atlanta with a shooting date of April 1st pinned down, though filming could commence even earlier than that (whether or not these notices are for first or second unit is unconfirmed).”

Obviously, this is a huge deal for Marvel fans… and it could mean a glimpse of Captain America and Iron man butting heads on set in the coming months.

But while little is known about the upcoming ‘Civil War’, it looks as though the first casting notice even included a brief synopsis of the film.

“Following the events of Age of Ultron, the collective governments of the world pass an act designed to regulate all superhuman activity. This polarizes opinion amongst the Avengers, causing two factions to side with Iron Man or Captain America, which causes an epic battle between former allies.”

Obviously, this is pretty much word-for-word what every Marvel fan assumed would happen… so there are really no surprises there. However, it’s encouraging to think that this time next month, we could be getting word of the first scenes filmed for ‘Civil War’ – a comic book movie that many fans thought would never happen.

And with rumours that Sony’s new Spider-Man could be in the mix, it’ll be interesting to see exactly how this develops.

Will Spider-Man make it into ‘Civil War’? For now, we’ll have to wait and see. But with filming due to begin, it won’t be a long wait at all.

‘Captain America: Civil War’ heads to cinemas on 29 April 2016.
