Daredevil’s Charlie Cox Wants A Solo Movie

After the phenomenal success of ‘Daredevil’ it looks as though the Man Without Fear wants to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in his own solo movie.

During an interview with IGN, 32-year-old Charlie Cox admitted that he’d love to head to the big screen… whether that’s a cameo or his own ‘Daredevil’ movie.

“Yeah that would be awesome,” he said about a ‘Daredevil’ stand-alone film. “I’d love to do that.” But he’s also keen to point out why ‘Daredevil’ works so well on TV.

“I love doing the TV show and I love that we have so much more time to explore the origin story and real deal with character and inner conflict, and spend a lot of time brooding in that world and those feelings, which is unusual for a superhero.”

Of course, we’ve already seen Matt Murdock appear on the big screen… but Ben Affleck’s stint as the Man Without Fear didn’t exactly go down well. In fact, the film is often cited as one of the worst comic book movies of all time.

And don’t get me started on his costume.

But while Charlie Cox is clearly enjoying suiting up as Daredevil, he’s certainly not averse to getting stuck into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“Usually when you’ve got a two-hour movie it’s action-packed, and so I think that’s one of the things that the show has really benefitted from – having that extra time to really get to know and sit with these characters and see them as humans,” he said. “But I’d love to see Daredevil on the big screen again. It would be great. And if I could be involved with that I’d be thrilled.”

Obviously, there are plenty of ways the TV series could cross over with Marvel’s big screen efforts… and we’ve already seen a few hints that the worlds are already connected. But will we see Daredevil make an appearance in ‘Civil War’?

“Well he’s in the comics, but I think they’re already… I think I might have missed that boat… So unless someone watches the show and falls so madly in love with it that they decide to get me in for a day, that would be great, but I have no idea.”

For now, we’ll have to wait and see… but at the very least, I’d expect a mention of Nelson & Murdock in there somewhere.
