Yahoo Movies Star Wars Episode VII's X-Wing Revealed By JJ Abrams
Director JJ Abrams has broken his strict veil of secrecy to reveal the inclusion of an X-wing starfighter in Star Wars Episode VII.
Or is it?
In a new video on behalf of the charity Star Wars: Force For Change, Abrams is standing in front of a battered, slightly burned spaceship with blue trim.
At first glance, it appears to be an X-wing fighter, the craft best known for bombing the Death Star in the original movie and that’s confirmed by a press release.

However…on closer inspection, it’s clear there is only one engine per wing (unlike an X-wing), with a design that makes it seem slightly more like a Z-95 Headhunter, a precursor to the X-wing, which was used during the Clone Wars.
Hmmmm. Either way, it’s cool, once again demonstrating the rumours flying around that talk of Episode VII being a return to the practical shabby future of the Episode IV, V and VI.
It also reaffirms director Kevin Smith’s recent assertions from his experience on-set that Abrams and crew are building a tactile world.
And with the new movie being set in a post-Empire world, we’re assuming many of the vessels will have been redesigned.
In the new video, the camera pulls back to reveal a Rebel pilot attempting to climb into the cockpit, while a mini-wheelie-style robot, as seen being scared by Chewbacca on board the Death Star, scuttles around the area, much to the (pretend) annoyance of Abrams.
Consider us fit to burst with excitement.
Abrams has also revealed that people who donate to Force For Change could win an early screening of the much-anticipated sequel.
Roll on 18 December, 2015 when ‘Star Wars: Episode 7’ is unleashed across the galaxy.
