Dane DeHaan and Mia Goth Join New Gore Verbinski Horror Movie

After spending most of the past decade making huge scale blockbusters, director Gore Verbinski is gearing up to make a smaller scale horror movie for his next project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Verbinski will direct and produce ‘A Cure For Wellness,’ an original horror script from ‘Revolutionary Road’ writer Justin Haythe, for New Regency and 20th Century Fox.

Up and coming actor Dane DeHaan (’Chronicle,’ ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2′) will take the lead as “an employee who is sent to rescue his boss from a European “wellness spa” but soon realizes he’s trapped, and discovers that the facility has a more sinister purpose than just serving the health needs of its patients.”

Mia Goth (’Nymphomaniac: Vol II’) is in talks to co-star as “a longtime patient who is oblivious to the spa director’s dark designs for her.”

Prior to directing the first three ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movies, ‘Rango’ and most recently ‘The Lone Ranger,’ Gore Verbinski had a major horror hit with 2002′s ‘The Ring’ (which currently has a follow-up, ‘Rings,’ in the works).

Kind of surprising he hasn’t directed more horror really, considering his first name…

‘A Cure For Wellness’ will reportedly shoot in Europe this summer.
