Guardians Of The Galaxy: James Gunn Shares Photo Of Amazing Groot Swingset

'Guardians of the Galaxy's Groot continues to capture the hearts of fans, as the Marvel movie's writer-director James Gunn shares an image of one of the most eye-catching, heartstring-tugging tributes yet to the character.

It’s a life-size Groot standing in a back garden - with a child-size swing hanging from his outstretched arm.

Gunn posted on Instagram, “Wow! Some awesome folks made their kid a Groot swing for an upcoming reality show called Super Fans, Super Builds. I love it.”

Voiced by Vin Diesel and noted for only being able to say “I am Groot,” the childlike, super-strong sentient tree seems to have become the most beloved character in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy.’

The cuteness of the character’s appearance in the final scene whilst dancing along to the Jackson 5’s ‘I Want You Back’ no doubt has some role to play in this.

Defying early fears that it might flop due to the comparative obscurity of the source comics, the film has become Marvel’s biggest box office hit of 2014 and at present their third highest grossing film in cinemas after ‘Iron Man 3’ and ‘Avengers Assemble.’
