Joss Whedon Refuses To Rule Out Marvel Return

Joss Whedon has already confirmed that he won’t be back to direct ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, but he’s not ruled out overseeing a future Marvel film in a few years time.

Whedon’s only just wrapped up work on ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’, and while talking to Collider he confessed that at the moment all he’s planning to do is rest.

After being asked about his Marvel future and whether he might return in a script writing or editing capacity, Whedon joked, “Well I’m definitely going to take a real break for a couple months because my brain is no longer.”

Whedon then confessed that he had to think long and hard about not returning for the third ‘Avengers’ movie, but ultimately he realized that the time was right to move away from the superhero genre, for the time being at least.

“You know, I’ve looked at both options. I love these guys. I love these movies; they’re exciting. But part of me does think, ‘You know what? I got to find out what’s next’,” Whedon explained.

But with Iron Man, The Hulk, Captain America, Thor et al currently in his rear view mirror, what’s next for Whedon? Well, it turns out that he doesn’t have a clue himself.

“There’s nothing that I don’t want to do,” Whedon admitted. “I love every genre, and a lot of different mediums. I have literally no idea. I do not know at all what I’m going to do next.”

But rather than being overawed by his presence in cinematic purgatory Whedon is actually invigorated by it, proclaiming, “It’s a nice feeling.”

Meanwhile, Joss Whedon will be replaced by ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ and ‘Captain America: Civil War’s’ Anthony and Joe Russo on ‘Avengers: Infinity War.’

‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ will be released on April 23.
