Suicide Squad Finds Its Deathstroke

After rumours that ‘Suicide Squad’ would feature fan-favourite Deathstroke, it looks as though Jim Parrack may have landed the coveted role.

It’s no secret that Deathstroke has been linked to the upcoming ‘Suicide Squad’ movie. The eye-patched mercenary is perhaps best known for going up against Batman, but it’s long been rumoured that Slade Wilson will in fact take on the Squad in their debut outing.

And now it seems they’ve found their man…

Appearing on Instagram, 34-year-old actor Jim Parrack has seemingly confirmed rumours that he’s landed the role of Deathstroke.

Of course, this isn’t an outright announcement… but after being linked to the role, it looks as though he may have actually landed it, despite stiff competition.

It was long-rumoured that Joe Manganiello was up for the role of Deathstroke – and while he recently stated that it was entirely different role he was in talks for, I can’t help wondering if he was just rather keen to keep it all under his hat.

After all, he may make a DC debut yet… and wouldn’t want a reputation as a blabbermouth.

But Jim Parrack was recently revealed to have joined the cast when director David Ayer unveiled an impressive cast photo. Although details of his role remained a bit of a mystery, fans quickly linked him to the role… and not it looks as though they may have been right on the money.

In the comic books, Deathstroke first appeared as a mercenary and assassin in ‘Teen Titans’, but later went up against the older heroes, Batman and Green Arrow. Eastablishing himself as the greatest mercenary in the world, he also became something of an anti-hero… and I can’t help wondering whether this is how he’ll be portrayed on screen.

Either way, it looks as though Jim Parrack will be the one to bring him to the big screen. But will he be as awesome as we all hope? For now, we’ll have to wait and see.

‘Suicide Squad’ heads to cinemas on 5 August 2016.
