Tara Reid Will Reprise Role For Sharknado 3

It’s perhaps no surprise that the ‘Sharknado’ franchise is thriving (so to speak) and is continuing to bask in all its ridiculously daft glory by way of ‘Sharknado 3’.

And the third film is, according to reports, sticking with its stars, as Tara Reid and Ian Zierng have signed up for another. Director Anthony C. Ferrante returns to helm his third outing, with Thunder Levin (probably not his birth name) completing a hattrick of writing duties.

'Sharknado 3' will be set in Washington D.C., so expect all sorts of carnage and destruction, much like the previous instalments in Los Angeles and New York.

Syfy’s bonkers, yet entertaining tongue-in-cheek horror proved a moderate hit back in 2013, regardless of its abysmal 3.3 rating on IMDb. A sequel followed the year after by the name of, wait for it, ‘Sharknado 2: The Second One’.

But, as audiences will be fully aware, the horror series is not to be taken seriously, so it seems to have attracted an audience due to its utter silliness.

The sequel aired in July of last year and became Syfy’s most-watched original movie in history, with 3.9 million viewers. The forthcoming movie looks like it’ll be just as successful when it airs this summer.
