Tom Hardy Teases Mystery DC Project

After dropping out of ‘Suicide Squad’ it looks as though Tom Hardy isn’t done with DC just yet… as he hints at a mysterious new project.

During an interview with Collider, the 37-year-old British actor revealed that he’s still working with Warner Bros. on something else entirely…

“I actually got something cooking with Warner Bros. which is also a comic book,” he said. “It’s a DC thing which is kind of… It’s really good actually, it contains elements of all kinds of stuff.”

But what is this new project? Although Hardy won’t name the project, he does give us some indication to what it might be all about.

“From Ocean’s Eleven, to Batman, you can get all the wrappers out and it would be a big, really cool, Technicolor, Pulp Fiction,” he said. “It’s a psychological f**kfest, it’s absolutely awesome. It’s as if you would take ‘Transmetropolitan’ and make it happen, but it’s not that out there it’s something which is much more real world. It could be like Heat, it could be fucking awesome. Let me tell you what it is, try and guess.”

Unfortunately, Hardy won’t reveal exactly what it is he’s working on… and his description sounds rather out there. But it gets a lot weirder than that, as he explains it might not even be a film project.

“It’s not even a movie,” he said. “It’s already… It’s real estate, it’s PRIME real estate which is sitting there right under everybody’s nose that no one’s really thought about yet and it goes TV and movie, it’s awesome. I can’t believe that nobody has even –I know they thought of it but no one has actually blown life into it yet.”

But what on earth is it?

I can’t help thinking that this might have something to do with ‘100 Bullets’ – an award-winning comic book published under DC’s Vertigo imprint. Agent Graves – an enigmatic old man – presents certain wronged individuals with the opportunity to seek revenge without consequence.

But that’s only the beginning…

It’s certainly a comic book that could tie into Tom Hardy’s description… and it’s a project which has apparently been in the making for some time. After all, The Wall Street Journal reported back last year that ‘100 Bullets’ was in development.

And nothing has been heard of the project since.

Could this be Tom Hardy’s big secret? I certainly hope so. But for now, we’ll have to wait and see.
