Batman V Superman Could Feature The Joker

It looks as though ‘Batman V Superman’ may feature an iconic Batman villain… as Jared Leto is rumoured to appear as The Joker.

According to the Latino Review, the much-hyped Batman villain won’t just be appearing in the upcoming ‘Suicide Squad’ movie.

“This past week, David Ayer revealed his version of the Clown Prince of Gotham, and now we’ve learned that Leto’s presence in Toronto as the Joker will end up serving both films.”

“A few weeks ago I’d heard murmurs of a flashback sequence that had supposedly been added to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice where we’d see Jared Leto’s Joker beating and killing Jason Todd, aka Robin. I chose to sit on it until there was more information.”

Of course, Ben Affleck’s arrival on the set of ‘Suicide Squad’ seems to provide a much more solid link between the two films. And some fans have already speculated whether or not this Toronto shoot will actually provide footage for both movies.

“We’ve heard that the Batmobile has been spotted in Toronto as well,” they added. “This adds credence to their being a strong link between Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad.”

But what’s all this about the death of Robin?

We’ve already heard rumours that original Robin – Dick Grayson – will have been killed before the events of ‘Batman V Superman’. And we might even see Bruce Wayne visiting his grave. But could another Robin bite the dust in this rumoured flashback?

I can’t help thinking that there are already plenty of iconic DC characters set to appear in the upcoming ‘Batman V Superman’… and it doesn’t necessarily need any more.

Either way, it looks as though both Ben Affleck and Jared Leto could be on set together as we speak. Will it be for ‘Batman V Superman’, ‘Suicide Squad’ or both? For now, we’ll have to wait and see.

‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’ heads to cinemas on 25 March 2016.
