First Look: Jason Momoa's Aquaman From Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice

Here’s your first look at ‘Game of Thrones’ alumni Jason Momoa as DC superhero Aquaman.

The image below was shared by ‘Batman v Superman’ director Zack Snyder via his Twitter, giving us our first glimpse at the comic book king of the seas and confirming his costumed appearance in next year’s film.

The simple image shows Momoa with a trident and some armour plating with the words “Unite the Seven” (as in the seven seas) plastered over him.  Snyder posted the image with the text, “There is only one true king.”

Momoa had long been rumoured to play the character in the DC Comics cinematic universe being assembled by Warner Bros, and was officially confirmed last year.

He will star in his own movie in 2018, after appearances in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ next year and 2017’s ‘Justice League: Part One’.

Snyder is currently in post-production on ‘Dawn of Justice’ after a mammoth shoot for the film. After 2013’s ‘Man of Steel’, the next film will mark the debuts of Ben Affleck’s Batman and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman as well as Aquaman.

We certainly like the look of the big screen’s first Aquaman, despite him appearing to be little more than a trident-wielding version of Khal Drogo, Momoa’s character from ‘Game of Thrones’.

His reveal leaves us with just a handful of Justice League members left unseen. Ezra Miller won’t be appearing in ‘Dawn of Justice’ as The Flash, and the new Green Lantern has yet to be cast.

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' will be released on 25 March 2016. 'Aquaman' will be released on 27 July 2018.
