Marvel Announce April Release For Daredevil Netflix Series

Marvel have finally revealed the release date of ‘Daredevil,’ their first Netflix TV series paving the way to ‘Avengers’-esque team-up mini-series ‘The Defenders.’ They’ve also released some new poster art to mark the occasion.

Starring Charlie Cox in the lead as Matt Murdock, the blind lawyer by day/costumed vigilante by night (previously portrayed by Ben Affleck in the much-maligned 2003 movie), ‘Daredevil’ will be released to Netflix on 10 April 2015 (at 12.01 pacific time, to be precise) in “all territories where Netflix is available" - meaning we won’t have to wait to get it here in the UK.

On top of which, it looks as if all 13 one-hour episodes will be released simultaneously - in which case, don’t be surprised if a lot of Marvel fans phone in sick to work that day…

- Mike Colter Is Luke Cage
- Krysten Ritter Is Jessica Jones
- Daredevil Red Suit Confirmed

Starring alongside Cox are Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple/Night Nurse, and ‘True Blood’s Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, two characters not featured in the 2003 movie.

Elden Henson (‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay') takes over from Jon Favreau as Murdoch's law partner Foggy Nelson, whilst Vincent D’Onofrio (still best known for ‘Full Metal Jacket’) fills the shoes of the late Michael Clarke Duncan as super-villain Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin.

'Daredevil' is set to be followed by three more Marvel Netflix shows expected later this year - 'Jessica Jones,' 'Iron First' and 'Luke Cage' - before all four characters team up as 'The Defenders.'

Kristen Ritter and Mike Colter have been cast as Jones and Cage respectively, but there has been no word yet on Iron Fist casting.
