Suicide Squad Director Promises Surprises Despite Set Leaks

‘Suicide Squad’ director has promised fans that plenty of surprises await in his upcoming DC Cinematic Universe (DCU) film.

This comes in the face of numerous set leaks from the movie’s very public shoot in Toronto, which has revealed a Batman appearance and The Joker’s (fully-clothed) new look.

Ayer took to Twitter to say: “Well we survived the streets. Time to go dark now,” meaning that filming is now heading indoors, where prying eyes are at a minimum.

“Remember,” he continues, “only the tiniest glimpse has been exposed. Our surprises are intact.”

Set for release in Summer 2016, the film will be the first film in the DCU not to star Henry Cavill’s Superman, whose debut as the character - ‘Man of Steel’ - kick-started Warner Bros new connected comic book movie series.

'Suicide Squad’ is about a group of incarcerated supervillains given a shot at redemption by the US government, who enlist them for black ops missions with a low chance of survival.

The Squad will consist of Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Will Smith’s Deadshot, Jai Courtney’s Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne’s Enchantress and Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flagg, among others.

Jared Leto also stars as The Joker, though he isn’t expected to be part of the titular group (he’s far too dangerous to let loose).

'Suicide Squad’ is set for release on 5 August 2016.
