Suicide Squad: Jake Gyllenhaal Turns Down Rick Flag Role
Jake Gyllenhaal has turned down the chance to replace Tom Hardy in Warner Bros’ ‘Suicide Squad’.
With production on ‘Suicide Squad’ set to start in April there’s still plenty of time to find a replacement to portray Rick Flag, but Warner Bros won’t be happy that their top pick to replace him has now passed on the project.

The news comes from Variety, who cite sources claiming the ‘Nightcrawler’ star isn’t interested in playing the leader of the comic book adaptations eponymous team.
Tom Hardy left after being announced along with the rest of the film’s A-star cast in December. Reports have since emerge that he left due to the reduced screen time of his character following rewrites of the script that favoured Jared Leto’s role as The Joker and Will Smith’s as Deadshot.
Also starring in David Ayer’s follow-up to Brad Pitt war movie ‘Fury’ are Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Cara Delevinge as Enchantress, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.
Reports yesterday also suggested a possible cameo for Ben Affleck’s Batman, setting up his future solo movie.
'Suicide Squad' will be released on 5 August 2016.
